The Sderot Media Center is an organization of citizen journalism that also serves as a news agency. The Center was founded with the purpose of uncovering and publicizing the voices of a population marginalized by the conflict: the residents of Sderot and the Western Negev who suffer daily from the terror of Kassam attacks. We give trips to members of the media, diplomats and students with the goal of spreading awareness of the situation in Sderot, and the routine of everyday life for people living with the reality of impending Kassam attacks. We encourage groups to volunteer and engage in projects to help the citizens of Sderot.
All of our trips are guided by professional guides, fluent in English and Hebrew, who live in the neighborhood of Sderot and areas surrounding Gaza. We offer tours Sunday through Friday, geared towards both small and large groups, and can accommodate individual group needs.
Every Wednesday, SMC professional guides are available to guide families, private individuals and students around Sderot. Anyone is welcome to come and visit and learn more about the Sderot reality with Sderot Media Center.
In order to join, you must sign up by noon on Tuesday. You may e-mail us at info@sderotmedia.org to sign up and/or ask for details. There is a fee.
